Changes coming soon to the Canadian passport program
New ePassport, 10-year validity for adult passports, a new fee structure.
Parents must never sign the passport of a child.
Children who are 11 years of age or over are required to sign their passport only if their signature appears on page 2 of the passport. Otherwise, the signature block should be left blank on page 3. Parents and children under 11 years of age do not sign the passport.
Your passport was lost, stolen or damaged?
If your most recent passport was lost, stolen or damaged; you are not eligible for the Simplified Renewal.
Confirmation of what happened to the previous passport requires additional information and documentation. You are required to apply through the regular application process to obtain a replacement passport.

- Only Passport Canada service locations are authorized to collect passport processing fees. (Service locations include: Passport Canada regional offices; Service Canada Centres; selected Canada Post counters; and Government of Canada offices abroad.)
